Cake Bake Shop

The Cake Bake Shop is one of my favorite places in Indianapolis! My breath was taken away the first time I visited, and I have never been disappointed since. It's a Parisian-style bakery where everything is pastel pink, sparkling crystal, or gleaming chrome and all the desserts are covered with edible glitter.

Everything I've eaten here has been delicious, from the cakes and macarons to drinks like hot chocolate and lavender-flavored sparkling water. The portions are huge but not so sweet that you get sick of it! They've also started serving real (non-dessert) food like quiche and soup that I need to try sometime soon. I can't wait for my next visit back!

Final Chapters & New Beginnings

This May I finished a major chapter in my life-- I graduated from Indiana University! I didn't get to walk in the ceremony but I took plenty of crimson and cream Hoosier-themed pictures on the beautiful Bloomington campus. I spent several amazing years at IU, made a bunch of wonderful friends, and I'm really going to miss it here! 

And now I'm resurrecting this blog to document my post-college life-- which I plan to fill with as much photography, crafts, and fashion as possible!

A few weeks ago, I went with some friends to the Bloomington Community Orchard for Apple Cider Fest! We had a lovely day of pumpkin carving, bobbing for apples, and general autumn fun!

We finished off the day with mulled cider and cookies, watching movies, and playing with some adorable kittens!

Back in Bloomington

So it's only been... almost 6 months since I last posted! A lot has happened this summer-- started a new job, went on vacation-- but now I'm back at IU for another semester. This past weekend the weather finally cooled down and I went to the Bloomington Farmer's Market with some friends!

We saw lots of fall produce and colorful flowers! Guin got some raw honey in a jar and a bunch of eggplants. We ended up walking around town for a little while, petting dogs and visiting The Garret, an antique store in an old limestone house.

We finished the afternoon at Rainbow Bakery, enjoying vegan donuts (green tea, raspberry hibiscus, strawberry basil) and fancy soda (butterscotch, juniper berry, cucumber). It is so colorful and retro inside!
