A Starry 4th


I didn't really have big plans for the 4th of July this year-- luckily, Chicago is pretty much made of big plans! Dan and I hung out at Loyola Park, a nearby beach. The combined smoke from all the nearby grills made it seem like one big barbeque, and we were surrounded by hundreds of stars-and-stripes clad people dancing to mariachi music, playing with sparklers, and setting off fireworks. It was such an awesome party atmosphere and probably the "most" 4th of July 4th of July I've ever experienced!

And JUST LOOK at this necklace!! My friend Tiff made it for me while she was experimenting with resin jewelry. They have real sprinkles inside-- rainbow star sprinkles, my favorite!!

    Sounds like you had a great time! Last year I spent my 4th of July in Chicago too! We had a blast watching the fireworks at Navy Pier. :)
