Anchor Sweatshirt DIY

It's finally, finally time for the first DIY project!! First of all, you should know that I totally love sweatshirts. I am almost constantly cold, so I dress in layers-- and though sweaters are great, nothing beats the comfort of a sweatshirt. The only dilemma is that even when I'm trying to be cozy, I always want to look cute. I'm always on the lookout for sweatshirts with fun colors and patterns!! I also have a bunch of basic, dark colored sweats that I've been updating, and since I'm such a sucker for nautical fashion, I decided to make a shiny gold anchor applique for my navy sweatshirt!

This is actually a really easy project-- you don't even have to sew! Simply choose a fabric and follow the instructions for an iron-on adhesive (I used Heat n Bond). Once the wrong side of the fabric is fused to the paper backing, draw or trace your pattern and then cut it out. Once again, follow the instructions to iron your  finished fabric pattern onto the sweatshirt. And voila, you are done!!

I've spent WAY too much time in the sweatshirt. It doesn't help that it's really soft and fuzzy inside, keeping it especially warm and cozy to wear. Best of all, I can make my own designer-inspired patterns on cheap Goodwill sweats, saving me money!! I can't wait to share my next sweatshirt fix with you... hint: it's super sparkly!!
